We must remember that it wasn’t our voting for Trump that turned our nation into a circus. Our nation has been a circus; values, morals, and everything we used to call wrong is now touted as right. That is why we are stuck with we have now.
The vote for Trump is proof of the mentality that has lingered for a long time; some of us just weren’t aware of it. And now that we are stuck with whatever is left, we have to keep pressing forward as now even our politics can’t help us fix this mess.
But we are still the people of this nation; we have seen rough times and lived through them. This is not a time to give up or to feed the mentality that brought us to this place, but to realize that we cannot just ignore those who don’t agree with us. Neither can we just live in a state of Us versus Them.
We have to find unity, a common goal. We should give up looking for scapegoats. Teaming up against a common “enemy” is the distraction that will just lead to more Trumps and a cycle we cannot escape. Remember that this man didn’t just put himself in charge of our country…too many people thought it was a good idea to let him lead it.
Therein lies the rub…the real issue we need to focus on.
The trouble is nobody wants to.
