Ladies of Haitian Music

Women have been great contributors in Haitian music, often singing cultural anthems, romantic ballads, and lively or entertaining songs. However, the presence of  women as the faces of kompa music bands and popular Haitian music in general needs to increase and this is necessary for the diversity of music. 

Women’s contributions to the music should be recognized. In honor of Haitian Heritage Month, here are some videos featuring Haitian women artists:
