There are many misconceptions about Africa, a continent with 54 different countries and distinct cultures within each country. Every area in this world has both positive and negative aspects. I cannot comprehend why Africa is never seen in this light. There are more dynamics and stories in African countries than just the hardships that are always shown. There are beautiful cultures and fascinating histories that the world should also be familiar with. The stereotypes of African countries, cultures, and people shouldn’t be the norm and how our world chooses to talk about African culture can either preserve or transform the narrative.
