A Bit of Realness For Black History Month

Powerful…there’s no other words to describe this poem by Clint Smith. His words prove why Black History Month is important. History especially in America is void of the stories of those left in its shadows.

As proud Americans, we often glorify our country and sidestep its injustices towards the people who are just as part of its mosaic as the people who we idolize as its heroes. This is the root of the disconnect in this country and if we can come to terms with this as a country, we can move forward together in better way.
